SEND Teaching Assistant (Key Stage One – 1:1 Support)

Start Date - January 2026  - On going

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a child in Key Stage One with autism. This role is based in our small, friendly, and welcoming school where staff and children work closely together in a nurturing environment.

The Role:

• Provide tailored support to a child with autism within the classroom and during activities outside the classroom.
• Use your knowledge of autism and effective support strategies to help the child access learning, build confidence, and develop social and emotional skills.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to ensure consistent, supportive provision.
• Prioritise empathy, patience, and nurturing approaches in every aspect of support.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Previous experience working in a classroom setting in a support capacity.
• A good understanding of the autism spectrum and strategies to support children with additional needs.
• A nurturing and empathetic approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting children’s wellbeing and development.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with staff, parents, and professionals.
